March 26th is Purple Day
About Purple Day
Purple Day is a global movement dedicated to raising awareness about epilepsy. Every year on March 26th, people around the world wear purple, light up buildings, and host events to show support for those living with epilepsy.Â
Canada is proud to be the only country with an official Purple Day Act, recognizing the importance of this day since 2012. By coming together, we shine a light on epilepsy, break down stigma, and build a community of support for the 30,000 individuals living with epilepsy in Southern Alberta.

Get ready to turn the city purple!Â
Show your support by dressing in your best purple attire, lighting up homes and landmarks, and sharing your moments using #postyourpurple. Want to do more? Start a fundraiser with our easy-to-follow Third-Party Toolkit or visit local businesses offering special purple treats in honour of Epilepsy Awareness Month.Â
Whether you’re hosting an event, making a donation, or simply wearing grape-coloured gear, every action helps spread awareness and spark meaningful conversations.
Purple Day By Night Gala
As the sun sets, the celebration continues with Purple Day By Night, an electrifying evening of live art and music.
