Donate Your Car

With the help of Donate a Car Canada, we can accept vehicle donations! We provide free towing in many areas across Canada – but if you want to maximize your donation it’s best to drop it off. Depending on the condition of your vehicle, it will either be recycled or sold at auction. Fortunately, Donate A Car Canada will look after all the details – which is good news for you and us alike!

Planned Giving

Planned giving is a set of ways that you can leave money or assets to a non-profit after your death, or a way to invest that money so you receive benefits during your life, and then donate the rest after you pass.

Planned giving, sometimes referred to as gift planning, may be defined as a method of supporting non-profits and charities that enables philanthropic individuals or donors to make larger gifts than they could make from their income. While some planned gifts provide a life-long income to the donor, others use estate and tax planning techniques to provide for charity and other heirs in ways that maximize the gift and/or minimize its impact on the donor’s estate.

Thus, by definition, a planned gift is any major gift, made in lifetime or at death as part of a donor’s overall financial and/or estate planning.  What are the three types of planned gifts?

  1. First, outright gifts that use appreciated assets as a substitute for cash;
  2. Second, gifts that return income or other financial benefits to the donor in return for the contribution;
  3. Third, gifts payable upon the donor’s death.  Assets to give:
